Facebook pages allowed as evidence in child custody cases

People in Tennessee who are going through child custody disputes may want to be aware of a new case in the state of New York. In that matter, the judge is allowing a woman's Facebook page into evidence in her ex-husband's child custody dispute with her.

Interstate child support laws

After an order for child support payments is issued in Tennessee, there could be many changes in circumstances for both parents. When one parent's financial situation changes significantly, the child support order could be modified. If one parent has moved to a different state when the modification is requested, there could be confusion about which state has jurisdiction over the case.

How is child custody determined here in Tennessee?

Unless an individual has an extensive legal background, most people are not prepared to go through child custody proceedings on their own. TN appeals court orders right of same-sex couple to divorce

With the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in June that same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry, the implication for many was that legally married same-sex couples also gained the right to divorce. That now appears to be the law in Tennessee, after a state court of appeals reversed a lower-court decision denying a couple’s request to get divorced.
