Rights of grandparents for visitation and custody

Although Tennessee family courts hear numerous cases related to the visitation and custody rights of parents, these issues can also be important to grandparents. In some family situations, the parents of a child might deny grandparents access to that child. Although litigation can be stressful and difficult, there are some cases in which a grandparent might have grounds for pursuing their own visitation rights. In serious situations, a grandparent might even seek custody of a grandchild.

Judge reduces child support order for Amanda Stanton's ex

Tennessee residents who are fans of the reality television show 'Bachelor in Paradise" may be familiar with Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray. The fiancés earn about $23,000 per month combined thanks to their television appearances, blogs and social media posts. Now, a court has ruled that Stanton's ex-husband and father of her two daughters will no longer have to pay her $2,000 per month in child support.

Navigating the limits of child support

Whenever a divorce involves children, parents are likely to consider and argue over child support and payment. Tennessee law considers it the duty of every parent to provide proper support to their children. If a parent cannot provide support through direct care, then they will be expected to pay a reasonable amount of monetary support to the parent who provides the majority of care. This support is calculated based primarily on the parents' incomes and also on the needs of the child.

In 2001, Stevie allegedly stopped making the $8,500 per month child support payments for the two kids that he has with his former girlfriend. There are now new reports that the rapper is back in court for missing payments.
